Aimed at:

This course is aimed at medical, nursing and other healthcare practitioners who are involved in the insertion and management of male and female catheters.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and of all catheter related equipment
  2. Explain the need and techniques for engaging clients in the decision making process
  3. Identify legal issues, consent, documentation and the rationale for undertaking catheterisation
  4. Demonstrate safe practice on an anatomical model
  5. Explain about the care of a client with a catheter

  • The risk of urinary catheterisation

Course Fees: £95 per learner

(Course equates to 7 CPD Points/Hours/Credits)


On completion of this course, each candidate will receive a CPD Accredited Certificate of Attendance . Each candidate will receive a competence training package for use in their area of work. We recommend that each candidate performs a number of catheterisation procedures under the supervision of a competent healthcare practitioner in order to be signed off.
